Bird Hunting Nomad

Well I am finally here settling into camp at my first destination. It doesn't look like much. Oceans of nothing for as far as the eye can see. It is a different game bird that lives out here. One that I do not know much about and I look forward to the education I am surely about to receive. I was tired from the long trip, it was too hot and I didn't have much daylight but I was itching to turn loose a couple dogs and go for a walk. Cash and Denny were heated up in about 20 minutes but they made an effort and we stumbled upon a wild flush of a couple Sharptail Grouse just 30 minutes into our hunt. One flew the wrong way and one barrel of my side by side is all it took to land him in my bag and on to the grill for dinner. It was enough to create all the excitement I needed for the morning hunt that was sure to bring cooler temperatures and more great dog work. I don't plan to be in one place for too long. I want to explore as much as I can while I am here. Tomorrow I will head north to a BMA and the excitement is in the unknown.
